I walk through the forest almost daily with my dog and I am stunned by the amount of dying trees. Some probably have reached their age limit, others, due to the extreme heat and loss of rain allowing insects to eat away at their hearts.
We are all confronted with these phenomena. We can't close our eyes anymore to the condition our world is in. Pollution is amongst the largest enemies of our time. Greed overrules nature. It makes me sad and thus I feel as an artist I must speak louder through my paintings, hoping to encourage thought about our situation on earth. Our beautiful, abundant Mother Eather is dying. Wake up. I've mentioned this before. Some 30 years ago I already painted my fears of Global Warming. I'm not an extremist, I'm a concerned dweller of our planet. I'm an artist, a mother and now a grandmother. I'm concerned.

Ich gehe fast täglich mit meinem Hund durch den Wald und bin fassungslos über die vielen sterbenden Bäume. Einige haben wahrscheinlich ihre Altersgrenze erreicht, andere sind durch die extreme Hitze und den ausbleibenden Regen von Insekten zerfressen worden.
Wir alle sind mit diesen Phänomenen konfrontiert. Wir können unsere Augen nicht mehr vor dem Zustand unserer Welt verschließen. Die Umweltverschmutzung ist einer der größten Feinde unserer Zeit. Die Gier der Industrie setzt die Natur außer Kraft. Das macht mich traurig, und deshalb habe ich das Gefühl, dass ich als Künstlerin durch meine Bilder lauter sprechen muss, in der Hoffnung, zum Nachdenken über unsere Situation auf der Erde anzuregen. Unsere schöne, reichhaltige Mutter Erde stirbt. Wacht auf. Ich habe das schon einmal erwähnt. Schon vor 30 Jahren habe ich meine Ängste vor der globalen Erwärmung gemalt. Ich bin keine Extremistin, ich bin eine besorgte Bewohnerin unseres Planeten. Ich bin eine Künstlerin, eine Mutter und jetzt eine Großmutter. Ich bin besorgt.
