Paintings Collages and Prints

Relocating home and studio by Christina Jarmolinski

Moving 2 studios and a home with hundreds of paintings and books was not a small endeavor. We drove back and forth 3 times with a truck and flights to move everything!

All 3 of us were affected by the climatic and cultural change.

Our dog slept well throughout the 4 days in the van. She was great. Seeing the beach and our yard seems to appeal to our dog. She loves roaming through the forest - neighborhood finding the scent of squirrels and other animals.

My studio is packed full with paintings, boxes and everything important to me.  I feel overwhelmed - In the beginning of my life as an artist, I would walk through woods and sketched many a tree.(see my sketchbook). Now 30 years later I am living smack in the middle of a forest and my surroundings are high trees. I guess my first new works will be this wooded area-maybe super-large collages showing tree trunks- straight upwards- actually very positive movement upwards. I have yet to find my space between the boxes and start.
