My Art Studio Reno has been an ongoing process of the last few months! It was pretty exhausting boxing everything to start with. Rob tearing down walls, installing a faucet, shelves, repairing my paper drawers, which has been used by my professor and his uncle!, etc. etc.
As Rob was doing the heavy work I was sorting out collage papers, sketch books, canvases, books stuff related to art, semi-precious stones for my "ART JEWELRY," paints brushes, books and more books and more books. Stuff, I think I can use for my assemblages; - 3-d art I have made and
my installations, categorizing, sorting out and discarding some. This was necessary after 3 relocations of my home and studios, from Europe to the States...........
Now, as Rob is putting up the last custom-made book shelves, I am rummaging through all the boxes I packed and trying to organize and eliminate. Wow! What a mess!
Talk about hoarding. Are all artists hoarders, imagining further use to recycle in their upcoming art projects?
Well, amazing.
I have also read many wonderful articles and interviews written about me. I've found my photos of my trip to India. ( I posted these a while back in my blog.) Photos of my students, my art school, Der Malerhof, in Germany. This was a trip back into my past.
Now I've had enough dwelling on the past. My head is full of ideas of art I want to create. Things that have cluttered my mind for too long. Now is the time to start making art again.
I am planning to show my art in the upcoming months in New Jersey and New York. DC is also on my agenda, so it's time to start.....
I hope this was a little insight into the life of an artist. Not always as romantic and eventful as many think. It boils down to hard work and tenacity.
Never-the-less, I love it and I couldn't picture another life for me. I made some good choices and many positive events have crossed my path and made my horizon wide.
