A few days ago I found my little box, after moving home and studio to Maryland. The little box I was searching was filled with photos of my India year back in 1992!
These works shops became a significant supplier of my stones. I studied a course in Poona's Institute of Gemology, enabling me to choose the right stones of very good quality. My thought, that time, was to do Importing of India's great precious and semi-precious stones to design art jewelry.
I developed a spiritual connection to India and the stones, working with a guru down in Goa later on. I realized I then rather make signature pieces meaning "one -of - a - kind."
Returning home, at that time, my studio in Germany, I was longing to continue my art-paintings, collages and installations. It was clear to me I am an artist not wanting to venture into the very hard import/export scene.
I decided to make my art jewelry.
I have many collectors of my art jewelry in Germany and the US.
I still have my contacts to India, who supply me with stones to make my designs.
