Competition for Black and White in Salisbury- AI&G by Christina Jarmolinski

"Art is what you can get away with" by Christina Jarmolinski is an  assemblage using wallpaper I found on my walls behind a mirror, which inspired me to create a portrait of Andy Warhol.

Continuing my professional stream of works, I am loving the concept of Pop Art. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_art

My art is now free from any traditional concepts. Humor is an import element of my Pop Art.

"Pop art presented a challenge to traditions of fine art by including imagery from popular culture such as advertising, news, etc. In pop art, material is sometimes visually removed from its known context, isolated, and/or combined with unrelated material.[1][2]"-wikipedia

"Pop art and minimalism are considered to be art movements that precede postmodern art, or are some of the earliest examples of Post-modern Art themselves."

I will be showing these works at AI&G in Salisbury, MD. http://www.aiandg.org/
